Originally from North Wales, I now make functional porcelain and stoneware pottery at Kigbeare Studios on the edge of Dartmoor, Devon. My wheel thrown work explores traces and mark making, be it through directing flame paths in woodfiring, or scratching through slip to create layered surfaces in the gas kiln. Subtle brush and finger marks speak to the process of decorating with traditional shino and chun glazes over a high iron slip, revealing gentle variations and depth of surface. Combining soft forms with repetitive patterns I aim for these pots to impart a sense of warmth, groundedness and intimacy.

Since graduating from Cardiff School of Art and Design in 2019 my work has been exhibited at Collect Art Fair, London Craft Week and has been shortlisted for the Cynthia Corbett Gallery Young Masters Art Prize. In 2022 I collaborated with British luxury fragrance company Molton Brown and the same year won the National Eisteddfod of Wales Young Artist Scholarship. In 2023 I received an Arts Council Wales grant to apprentice for 18 months with woodfiring potter Simon Levin in the United States.

In addition to having a studio at Kigbeare I also teach throwing classes and run workshops in the holidays for children.
